Nintendo announced today the name of its new game console that they believe will rival the XBox 360 and PlayStation 3.  Right.  The name: Wii.  I'm cereal (did anyone see South Park last night?  HAHAHAHAHA!).  If Nintendo did as well on the product as they did on the products name, it seems as though Nintendo is trying to put itself out of business.

I can picture a group of business people sitting around in their expensive suits at a conference table trying to come up with a good name for their product.  One guy says, “how about Wii? W-I-I?”.  “Great idea!  It sounds like the word 'we'!” another guy says.  Then the name gets passed on to supervisors for approval.  Does anyone stop and say, “Wii?  What the hell is that supposed to mean? And how does it get our message to the consumer?”

Nintendo has said that Revolution expressed the direction they wanted to go in and Wii is the answer.  It sounds like “we” meaning it is meant for everybody.  HAHAHAHAHAHA!
